The Riviera Hotel becomes first hotel in greater China area to receive LEED for EB:O&M certification

LEED Existing Buildings: Operations & Management Gold Certification

The Riviera Hotel is a boutique hotel located in central Taipei. The hotel chose to pursue LEED certification for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance, and became the 1st hotel in the greater China area to receive the LEED for EB:O&M certification.

Example project achievements include: no potable water used for irrigation, energy use intensity 25% less than average, reduced potable water use by 35%, new green roof to reduce heat island effect and provide insulation, and new green cleaning & indoor pest control programs to ensure indoor environmental quality.

The primary goals for the project were to actualize Intelligent Building Management Practices and provide Environmentally-Responsible Service Operations to guests.

Ascott Central Wuxi Serviced Residences Grand Opening, Wuxi YunFu Building on Track to receive LEED Core and Shell Certification

Seeking LEED Core & Shell Certification

The newly opened Ascott Central Wuxi Serviced Residences are located within the Wuxi YunFu Building which plans to seek LEED Core and Shell certification. The Wuxi Yun Fu Building, aka the Wuxi Yunfu Mansion, is a new construction mixed-use building located in Chong'an District, downtown Wuxi, Jiangsu District, China. The building consists of three (3) main sections by space use: Retail & Restaurants [Floors B1 to 7], Offices [Floors 9 to 36], and Hotel [Floors 8, 37 to 48].

The building and hotel interior finish-out has been completed by Wuxi Chong Fu Real Estate Development Company and Wuxi Ascott Limited, who will manage the serviced residences. Steven Leach is the hotel’s interior designer as well as the LEED consultant for the whole Wuxi Yun Fu Building. In addition to the Core and Shell certification of the building, the hotel interior finish-out has also been executed to LEED standards, including sustainable strategies such as indoor air quality programs during construction, installation of low-emitting materials, and diverting construction waste for recycling rather than disposal.
