Paramount Hotel, Shanghai

This hotel is located at the center of Jingan district next to the famous Jing An temple and the Paramount Ballroom, a historic nightclub and dance hall that was a major entertainment thoroughfare and famous meeting place for the wealthy elite of Shanghai society in the 1930s. The building has a very narrow ground floor lobby. Therefore, we elevated the Reception Lobby to the 12th floor and so made the entrance lobby an impressive focal point. We then followed the design language of the lobby throughout the whole hotel.
